PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for treating and preventing presbycusis.SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating presbycusis contains a coral extract. The extract is preferably an aqueous liquid having a pH of 8.0, and the liquid is preferably made by (a) immersing coral particles in purified water and (b) adjusting a pH of the water to 8.0±0.5. The liquid is further preferably made by passing water through a purification cartridge loaded with the coral particles.【課題】老人性難聴を治療および予防するための組成物の提供。【解決手段】サンゴの抽出物を含む、老人性難聴を治療するための薬学的組成物。前記抽出物は、ｐＨが８．０の水性の液体であることが好ましく、該液体は、（ａ）サンゴ粒を精製水に浸漬すること、及び（ｂ）該水のｐＨを８．０±０．５に調整することにより作成されることが好ましい。前記液体は、サンゴ粒を備えた精製カートリッジに水を通すことによって作成されることが更に好ましい。【選択図】図１
