Disclosed is a product comprising a beta 2 agonist and a progestin, as a combined preparation for use in the treatment or prevention of muscle loss, wherein said 2 beta agonist is selected from the group consisting of formoterol, ritodrine and indacaterol. Also disclosed is the use of the combination for the manufacture of a medicament for use in treating muscles loss. The muscle loss maybe associated with cancer cachexia, COPD, dystrophy, a burn injury, CHF or AIDS.
