An inhalable composition, preferably tobacco free, comprising: nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative or salt thereof a propellant preferably a hydrofluorocarbon a monohydric alcohol, preferably ethanol and a glycol and/or a glycol ether preferably propylene glycol, polypropylene glycol and polyethylene glycol, wherein the propellant is present in an amount of from 0% w/w to less than 60% w/w based on the total weight of the composition. The composition further comprises a human TAS2R bitter taste receptor agonist, saccharin, and a flavor component, menthol and/or vanillin. A further independent claim is an inhaler 1 comprising: a reservoir 2 of a tobacco free inhalable composition, a heater 6 to heat the composition to between 40°C -180°C, and a breath activated power source 9 arranged to supply electrical power to the heater 6 when the user inhales from the inhaler. The inhalable composition comprises: nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative or salt thereof a glycol and/or a glycol ether, and a propellant wherein the propellant is present in an amount of 0% w/w to less than 95% w/w based on the total weight of the composition. A further independent claim is a refillable pressurized canister.
