A surgical probe positioning device (10) for holding a surgical probe (20) in a predetermined position during a surgical operation procedure. The positioning device (10) has a structural frame element (30) provided with holding means (40) for said surgical probe (20) and attachment means (50) for fixating the structural frame element (30) over an operation incision (60) on a patient. The device (10) is especially characterized in that said structural frame element (30) comprises a longitudinal strip (70) and that said holding means (40) comprises at least one positioning slot (80) in said longitudinal strip (70) for receiving and holding the surgical probe (20). The positioning slot (80) exhibits an entrance section (90) and a probe retaining section (100), said entrance section (90) being open in a transversal direction of the longitudinal strip (70).
