This pupil diameter measurement assistance device comprises: a device main body that is substantially U-shaped in planar view and that is constituted by a front section arranged in front of both eyes of a person being measured, and side sections arranged so as to sandwich the respective temples of the person being measured from both the left and right sides and a pair of left and right image-capturing sections provided in the front section of the device main body such that the image-capturing sections face the respective eyes of the person being measured. The image-capturing section includes: a visible-light emitting section that emits visible light toward the pupil of the person being measured a near-infrared-light emitting section that emits near-infrared light toward the pupil of the person being measured and a camera section that is provided in the vicinity of the visible-light emitting section and the near-infrared-light emitting section, and that captures an image of the pupil of the person being measured.
