The present invention relates to a wound dressing, comprising a frame, which comprises at least one organic frame polymer and at least one layer of fibers spanning the frame, the fibers comprising at least one organic fiber polymer. Furthermore, the invention relates to a process for manufacturing a wound dressing of the preceding claims comprising the steps of generating at least one layer of polymer fibers comprising an organic fiber polymer by electrospinning, providing the frame which comprises an organic frame polymer, and depositing at least one layers of aligned polymer fibers on the frame.
