The present invention relates to a chemical process that uses a determined concentration of sodium chloride and calcium chloride, mixed in equal concentrations and applied to faeces or excreta, of animal or human origin, to obtain a compost of microbiologically innocuous solid waste, the process being characterised in that it allows soils to be improved by using a predetermined quantity of sodium chloride (NaCl), which allows the sodium irons in the faeces to be increased, together with a predetermined quantity of calcium chloride (CaCl2), which allows the moisture or water in the raw matter to be dried up, eliminating the majority of microorganisms present in the faeces by modifying the pH of the medium, thus allowing the bacterial cells to be lysed. The present invention also relates to a chemical composition used in the chemical process defined above, said composition being mixed with the raw matter from the faeces and allowing a compost product for use on soils to be obtained.
