PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent sheet which has excellent absorption performance and superior biodegradability, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: An absorbent sheet comprises an absorbing layer formed of a nonwoven fabric which is obtained by heat-treating an air-laid web formed by stacking a first web including a first raw material fiber and a second web including a second raw material fiber. The first raw material fiber contains 2% or more and 50% or less of a thermally adhesive fiber (X) that is selected from a fiber (x1) and a fiber (x2) and contains 0% or more and less than 5% of a cellulose fiber. The second raw material fiber contains 5% or more and 98% or less of the cellulose fiber. The first web has a basis weight of 113 to 300 g/m2. The fiber (x1) is a thermally adhesive fiber made of a resin (A) selected from polybutylene succinate and the like.
