PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening an antiobestic agent in good accuracy and a short period and to provide a method for determining the antiobestic agent obtained by such screening method and to provide foods for anti-obesity/feed for anti-obesity and to provide a method for determining the extent of differentiation of a fat cell in good accuracy and a short period.
SOLUTION: A differentiated fat cell is cultured in the presence of a test substance and a form of mitochondria in the cell is observed and when fragmented and/or aggregated mitochondria in the differentiated fat cell forms tubular network, it is evaluated that the test sample is an antiobestic agent to screen the antiobestic agent. A Hela cell treated with a higher fatty acid is cultured in the presence of a test sample and a form of mitochondria in the cell is observed and when fragmented and/or aggregated mitochondria in the Hela cell treated with the higher fatty acid forms tubular network, it is evaluated that the test sample is an antiobestic agent to screen the antiobestic agent.
