The disposable diaper (10) has a waist stretch zone (85) disposed between a pair of fastening tapes. The waist stretch zone (85) extends bilaterally from the widthwise center of the disposable diaper in the width direction, and the waist stretch zone (85) has first regions (851) extending inward from the respective outer edges of the waist stretch zone in the width direction, second regions (852) extending inward from the respective inner edges of the first regions in the width direction and having a lower extensibility than the first regions, and a third region (853) extending inward from the inner edges of the second regions in the width direction and having a higher extensibility than the second regions.
