Disclosed herein are methods for making a catechin derivative, or a salt thereof. The methods can include: contacting an alcohol protected aromatic aldehyde and a triphenyl phosphonium ylide to make an alcohol protected aromatic olefin hydrogenating the alcohol protected aromatic olefin to make alcohol protected aromatic compound and deprotecting the alcohol protected aromatic compound to make the catechin derivative.Linvention concerne des procédés pour la préparation dun dérivé de catéchine, ou dun sel de celui-ci.
