A catheter assembly for use in accessing a vasculature of a patient is disclosed. In one embodiment, the catheter assembly includes a catheter body that includes a flat elliptical outer surface and defines a first lumen and a second lumen. The catheter body defines a distal tip region that includes a distal-facing portion and includes a venous lateral opening in fluid communication with the first lumen. The distal tip region is substantially non-staggered with respect to the vein lateral opening, further comprising a distal-facing portion and an arterial lateral opening in fluid communication with the second lumen. The distal end opening is in fluid communication with the third lumen capable of high pressure injection. In another embodiment, the first lumen and the second lumen each typically comprise a reinform cross-sectional shape.
