PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist execution of TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) so as to prevent occurrence of complications associated with the execution of TAVR or so as to reduce the risk of the occurrence of the complications.SOLUTION: A medical image processing apparatus includes a region extraction unit, a peripheral tissue detection unit, an image generation unit, and an output unit. The region extraction unit extracts regions corresponding a ventricle and an atrium of a heart of a subject from first medical image data showing a shape of a heart region of the subject. The peripheral tissue detection unit detects regions of peripheral tissues existing around an aortic valve in the first medical image data on the basis of database determining a positional relation of elements in the heart region, and the regions extracted by the region extraction unit. The image generation unit generates second medical image data showing the peripheral tissue regions detected by the peripheral tissue detection unit.
