A transmission apparatus includes a drivemember, a driven member, and an at least partiallyflexible transmission coupled to the drive member and thedriven member. The flexible transmission is configured tocause movement of the driven member in response tomovement of the drive member. The flexible transmissionincludes a first tension element having a first portioncoupled to the drive member, a second portion coupled to thedriven member, and an intermediate portion between thefirst portion and the second portion. The transmissionapparatus also includes an adjustment member that engagesthe intermediate portion of the first tension element. Theadjustment member is configured to be adjusted to vary atension force applied to the first tension element.
