PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new composition for promoting gastrokine production in a tissue.SOLUTION: The gastrokine production promoter contains an enzyme-modified cheese obtained by enzymically treating natural cheese or process cheese by using one or more kinds of enzymes for degrading a fat or a protein in the cheese, such as lipase, protease and peptidase, as active ingredients. The composition promotes the expression of a gastrokine gene even in a tissue in which conventionally it is known that the production level of the gastrokine is low, e.g. the large intestine, to promote the production of the gastrokine.
