A detection system for estrus of quadruped is provided for improving the accuracy of conventional detection system for estrus of dairy cow. The detection system includes measuring the displacement amount of a plurality of quadrupeds via movement sensors respectively, and reporting the displacement amount of each quadruped to a processing unit through a wireless communication unit. The processing unit detects if an displacement amount measured by one of the movement sensor exceed a threshold value, and determines the quadruped with the movement sensor is mounting another quadruped. The processing unit locates another movement sensor which is closest to the movement sensor, and thus considers the quadruped with another movement as a mounted animal. The processing unit adds up the standing heat frequency of the mounted animal, then determines whether the standing heat frequency exceeds a critical value. More specifically, if the standing heat frequency doesn’t exceed the critical value, the processing unit stores the heat frequency otherwise, the processing unit further determines whether the mounted animal has an activity level exceeding a standard value, and decides the mounted animal is in heat while the activity level does exceed the standard value.一種四足動物發情偵測方法,係用以解決習知乳牛發情偵測方法之準確率偏低的問題,該四足動物發情偵測方法包含:由複數個移動偵測單元偵測分別量測複數頭四足動物的位移量,並間歇性地透過一無線通訊單元輸出該位移量至一處理單元;由該處理單元判斷其中一移動偵測單元所量測之位移量是否大於一門檻值,若判斷為否,紀錄該位移量,若判斷為是,判定該裝設該移動偵測單元之四足動物發生駕騎動作,並透過該無線通訊單元找出該移動偵測單元周圍與其距離最接近之另一移動偵測單元,進而判定裝設該另一移動偵測單元之四足動物為一被駕騎動物;由該處理單元累計該被駕騎動物之站立發情次數,並且判斷該站立發情次數是否大於一臨界值,若判斷為否,則儲存該站立發情次數,若判斷為是,則進一步判斷該被駕騎動物的活動量是否超出一標準值,若比對結果為是,即判定該被駕騎動物處於發情狀態。
