A highly stable compound or composition is needed that has an effective effect of osteogenesis promotion, tooth germ development promotion, dental root formation promotion, periodontal tissue regeneration promotion, and the like in addition to having further reduced side effects. The present invention addresses the abovementioned problem by discovering that a specific type of glycogen promotes osteogenesis, tooth germ development, dental root formation, periodontal tissue regeneration, and the like. The present invention provides a composition that contains a glycogen of which the weight average molecular weight is less than about 8700 kDa, and that is for at least one purpose selected from the group consisting of osteogenesis, osteogenesis promotion, tooth germ development promotion, dental root formation promotion, and periodontal tissue regeneration promotion.
