PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for exhibiting excellent effects on harmful organism control in cotton fields by using a neonicotinoid compound, an azole compound, a strobilurin compound or a metalaxyl compound and a PPO inhibiting compound.SOLUTION: The method for controlling weeds in cotton fields includes treating fields, before or after seeding of cotton seeds treated with at least one type of compound selected from the group consisting of a neonicotinoid compound, an azole compound, a strobilurin compound and a metalaxyl compound, with at least one type of a PPO inhibiting compound selected from the group consisting of flumioxazin, sulfentrazone, saflufenacil, oxyfluorfen, fomesafen and a compound represented by the formula.【課題】ネオニコチノイド化合物、アゾール化合物、ストロビルリン化合物、及びメタラキシル化合物と、ＰＰＯ阻害化合物とを使用して、ワタ畑の有害生物防除において優れた効果を発揮する方法を提供すること。【解決手段】ワタ畑における雑草の防除方法であって、ネオニコチノイド化合物、アゾール化合物、ストロビルリン化合物、メタラキシル化合物からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも１種の化合物を処理したワタ種子を播種する前又は播種した後の畑にフルミオキサジン、スルフェントラゾン、サフルフェナシル、オキシフルオルフェン、ホメサフェン及び［化１］の化合物からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも１種のＰＰＯ阻害化合物を処理する、ワタ畑における雑草の防除方法。【選択図】なし
