PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a massage machine early detecting breakage of a cover and stopping operation with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: This massage machine includes, in a back pad part 13 of a chair, a massage unit 30 equipped movably along the long direction of the back pad part. The massage machine includes, in the massage unit, horizontally and/or vertically swingable medical treatment arms 42 each having massaging balls 41 in the tips, and conveys movement of the massaging balls to a treated person through the flexible cover 70 stretched on the surface of the back pad part. The massage machine includes breakage detection devices 71, each of which comprises a photodetection sensor 72 and a microswitch 76 or the like, each of which dashes out outside the cover together with the massaging ball from a broken part when the cover 70 is broken, and which are equipped near the massaging balls.
