PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrothermal treatment method for a culture medium base material of mushroom bed in a treatment method for a culture medium base material in mushroom bed culture, in which hot water is allowed to act on a chip-like or sawdust-like mushroom bed culture medium base material in a preliminary step before culture medium preparation to accelerate homogenization of the moisture content and softening of the base material, and the culture medium base material is infiltrated with moisture to have the moisture content necessary for spread of mushroom mycelia and to solve the problem such as invasion of various germs due to pin holes. SOLUTION: The method for mushroom bed culture includes mixing the culture medium base material such as chip-like or powdery wood, corn cob, corn dregs, sugar cane dregs, cottonseed dregs and/or bark compost with ≥80°C hot water in the step before the culture medium preparation process in the mushroom bed culture.
