PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image processor, method and program, which can specify at least one of a vertebral body and an intervertebral disc contained in a vertebra highly precisely, even in the case where the vertical body and the intervertebral disc are partially deformed.SOLUTION: A candidate detection part 22 detects an intervertebral disc candidate and a vertebral body candidate from a medical image, and a centerline detection part 23 detects a backbone center line. A distribution generation part 24 generates the distributions a feature amount expressing the likelihood of an intervertebral disc and the likelihood of a vertebral body.
