Disclosed is a method of treating a condition in a plant by applying a composition comprising nickel in a form capable of being taken up by the plant, gibberellic acid and at least one nitrogen-based nutrient acceptable to the plant, wherein the condition is selected from growth rate, nutrient uptake, plant health, rots, fungal diseases, necrotic spotting, fruit splitting and chlorophyll level and the plant is selected from grasses and other pasture plants, pip fruits, stone fruits and grapes. Further disclosed is a composition for the treatment of a condition in a plant selected from grasses and other pasture plants, pip fruits, stone fruits and grapes, the composition comprising nickel in a form capable of being taken up by the plant, gibberellic acid and at least one nitrogen-based nutrient acceptable to the plant, wherein the condition is selected from growth rate, nutrient uptake, plant health, rots, fungal diseases, necrotic spotting, fruit splitting and chlorophyll level.
