PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape-type disposable diaper having standing gathers with excellent leakproof property.SOLUTION: The tape-type disposable diaper 1 includes: an absorbent body 14 composed of a front part 2, a crotch part 4 and a back part 6 and having an absorber 22, a top sheet 18 and a back sheet 20 fastening tapes 50 which are arranged to extend from right and left side edges 6a and 6b of the back part 6 of the absorbent body 14 and at least a pair of standing gathers 26 which are arranged on the surface of the top sheet 18 so that the gathers extend along the both side edges of the absorber 22. A proximal part 28X to a distal part 28Y of the standing gather 26 is made of at least two sheet materials 32a and 32b. The at least two sheet materials 32a and 32b are bonded by a heat seal 29 at the distal part 28Y side of the standing gather 26 in the extending direction P of the gather along the side edge of the absorber 22.
