Present embodiments include a system and method for providing a bus bar boot or cover for a bus bar feature formed from a material with an integral or non-integral pest repellent. The bus bar boot or cover may include a polymer formed with geometric features configured for formfitting about a bus bar component. The pest repellent may be integrated with the polymer or applied to the polymer.
