PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly adapt a curvature direction to a display direction of an observation image, in an endoscope apparatus capable of changing the display direction of the observation image.SOLUTION: Artificial muscles 42A, 42F, 42I and 42M are arranged at 90° intervals along a peripheral edge of a scope. The artificial muscle corresponding to an input curvature direction is energized to curve a curvature part.
