FIELD: astronautics.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space technology and can be used in the creation of communication (telecommunication) spacecraft for non-contact non-destructive quality control of semiconductor photoconverters (PC) of solar cells (SC). Claimed method for testing arsenide gallium photoconverters in solar cells includes irradiation of a portion of the surface of the tested photoconverter with laser radiation with a wavelength of (0.40÷0.55) mcm, control of the photoelectroluminescent radiation arising in the non-irradiated portion to the photodetector and determination of the quality of the photoconverter by comparing the measured intensity of the photoelectroluminescent radiation of the photoconverter under test with the intensity of the photoelectroluminescent radiation of the reference photoconverter.
