A plurality of protrusions comprises a pH neutral material. The plurality of protrusions is joined to the backing sheet. The plurality of protrusions is configured for extending away from a surface of the backing sheet for supporting the roots of the at least one plant in which the at least one plant is supported in a growing position and damage to the at least one plant is mitigated during removal of the roots from the protrusions.
