PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently treat a high polymer absorbent of a used sanitary article containing a pulp fiber and the high polymer absorbent, and to efficiently recover the pulp fiber from the used sanitary article.SOLUTION: A method for treating a high polymer absorbent includes: a process in which the high polymer absorbent is dissolved with ozone water, is decomposed into low molecules, and is solubilized; and a process in which the high polymer absorbent is solved in ozon water, and the high polymer absorbent is discharged together with ozon water.
