The present invention relates to a mechanical device for joint distraction of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and corresponds to a physiotherapy aid for patients with TMJ joint disorders. The present invention is characterized by comprising a top arm (19) and a bottom arm (20) joined together in a pivot region by a mechanical attachment and pivoting component (5) and spring (6) or mechanical component between the top arm (19) and bottom arm (20). Each arm has a handle: the top arm (19) handle (1) and the bottom arm (20) handle (4). Each arm has an intraoral end for contact with tooth surfaces: the top arm (19) has a top dental splint (2) with a surface for supporting the maxillary teeth flanked by a top dental splint retention rim (11)； the bottom arm (20) has a curvature extending until the end thereof, with a customisable surface (3) for supporting the bottom teeth. The present invention also has a mechanical component (13) which limits the extent of movement and force applied by the patient or physician, for the purpose of generating the joint distraction movement.La présente invention concerne un dispositif mécanique pour distraction articulaire de l'articulation temporo-mandibulaire (ATM) et consiste en un accessoire de physiothérapie pour des patients souffrant de troubles articulaires de l'ATM.
