According to an embodiment of the present invention, a photoacoustic and ultrasonic endoscopy system comprises a probe and a probe driving unit. The probe includes: a coaxially configured optical and electromagnetic rotary waveguide assembly, which comprises an optical fiber including a core and a cladding, and a conductive path coaxially disposed with the optical fiber a scanning tip disposed at one end of the coaxially configured optical and electromagnetic rotary waveguide assembly and detecting a photoacoustic and ultrasonic signal generated from a subject by sending a laser beam to the subject and a plastic catheter for wrapping the outside of the coaxially configured optical and electromagnetic rotary waveguide assembly and the outside of the scanning tip. The conductive path includes a first conductive path including a region coaxially disposed with the optical fiber and a second conductive path which has a region coaxially disposed with the optical fiber and is insulated from the first conductive path.
