The invention provides a medicament delivery device comprising a housing (10) having a medicament container (14) disposed therein for containing a medicament and a surface for contacting a patient's skin； an injection needle (32) for penetrating the patient's skin, the needle being in fluid communication with the medicament container； a power source (20) and a plunger rod (24) movable within the housing under a force of the power source for contacting the medicament container； and an indication mechanism (56) visible outside the device for indicating that delivery of the medicament is substantially complete, wherein motion of the plunger rod activates the indication mechanism, and wherein the indication mechanism converts the motion of the plunger rod into motion of the indication mechanism visible from outside the device； wherein the indication mechanism indicates medicament delivery progress throughout delivery of the medicament.
