PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TNF-&alpha (tumor necrosis factor-&alpha) production inhibitor or a nitric oxide production inhibitor comprising a specific plant or an extract thereof as an active ingredient.
SOLUTION: The TNF-&alpha production inhibitor and nitric oxide production inhibitor comprise at least one or more species of plant bodies themselves selected from the plant body group consisting of Acanthopanax senticosus harms of the family Araliaceae, Quercus salicina of the family Fagaceae, Cimicifuga racemosa (L.) Nutt. of the family Ranunculaceae, Astilbe thunbergii of the family Saxifragaceae, Centella asiatics of the family Umbelliferae and Nypa fruticans of the family Palmae or an active ingredient obtained from solvent extract solutions of the plant bodies. A food and drink, a feed or a medicine comprises the TNF-&alpha production inhibitor and nitric oxide production inhibitor.
