PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a vascular implant having a surface texture that controls the size and shape of fragments of coating material that may flake off the implant.SOLUTION: The vascular implant comprises an upper surface textured so as to include two or more texture parts 16 that are designed to interact with a polymer coating, and to control at least one of the size of fragments, the shape of the fragments, and the quantity of the fragments of a coating that flake off an upper surface 12 as a result of radial expansion of the vascular implant at a treatment side, and the polymer coating is applied to the upper surface.
