The invention relates to a system of modular plates for the osteosynthesis of long bone fractures and to a method for using the same. According to the invention, the system consists of a modular plate comprising two linear modules (1) provided with some dove-tail extremities (a and b) permitting the initial translation coupling of the modules (1), while the final coupling and the fracture compression are achieved by means of a U-shaped clamp (2), provided with two straight sides and a horizontal corrugated segment, the modules (1) being joined together by introducing the sides of the clamp (2) in its open position, at low temperature, into some cylindrical channels (c) the modules (1) are provided with. The claimed method consists, in a first stage, in selecting some necessary plate modules suitable for the type of bone and fracture concerned, followed by making an incision of maximum 3...4 cm in the area of the fracture focus, reducing some fracture fragments, fixing the plate modules on the opposite fragments of the fracture by means of some screws, initial coupling of modules by means of some dove-tail extremities, fracture compression by coupling the modules by means of a clamp made of shape memory alloys, followed by the clamp withdrawal , by cooling, after fracture healing, and the final withdrawal of modules.Invenţia se referă la un sistem de plăci modulare, pentru osteosinteza fracturilor oaselor lungi, şi la o metodă de utilizare a acestuia. Sistemul conform invenţiei este constituit dintr-o placă modulară, formată din două module (1) liniare, prevăzute cu nişte extremităţi (a şi b) în formă de "coadă de rândunică", ce permit cuplarea iniţială, prin translaţie, a modulelor (1), cuplarea finală şi compactarea unei fracturi fiind realizate prin intermediul unei agrafe (2) în formă de "U", prevăzută cu două laturi drepte şi un segment orizontal, ondulat, solidarizarea modulelor (1) fiind realizată prin introducerea laturilor agrafei (2), în forma sa deschis
