PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method relating to the field of telomerase negative cancer treatment, which especially uses an inhibitor of reverse transcriptase (RT) for inhibition of cancer cell growth with treatment and prevention of a cancer in combination.SOLUTION: A nucleoside compound interacts with a specific structure of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) or ribonucleic acid (RNA) and the compound interferes telomerase and reverse transcriptase activities and is useful as an antiviral agent, an antimicrobial agent and an anticancer agent. A method for treatment or prevention of a cancer in a patient comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of a composition having an inhibitor or antagonist of reverse transcriptase (RT) expressed within a cell in the patient. The method uses a nucleoside analog and an inhibitor of another RT with a DNA damaging agent such as genotoxic agent or radiotherapy or photodynamic therapies or a combination thereof, for treatment of various cancers.【課題】テレメラーゼ陰性の癌治療の分野に関し、特に癌細胞の成長の阻害のための逆転写酵素(RT)のインヒビターと癌の治療と予防とを組み合わせて用いる方法の提供。【解決手段】ヌクレオシド化合物であって、デオキシリボ核酸(DNA)又はリボ核酸(RNA)の特定の構造と相互作用するもので、該化合物はテロメラーゼ及び逆転写酵素の活性に干渉し、抗ウイルス剤、抗菌剤、及び抗癌剤として有用であり、並びに患者において癌を治療又は予防する方法であって、該患者の細胞内で発現される逆転写酵素(RT)のインヒビター又はアンタゴニストを有する組成物の治療上有効な量の投与を含む該方法で、種々の癌の治療のために、ヌクレオシド類似体及びその他のRTのインヒビターを、遺伝子毒性薬剤等のDNA損傷薬剤又は放射線療法若しくは光線力学的療法あるいはそれらの組み合わせと共に用いる方法。【選択図】なし
