An anhydrous cosmetic composition comprising [a] at least a strongly swelling water-absorbing component, preferably selected from xanthan gum, gellan gum, cellulose ethers, linear or crosslinked sodium polyacrylates, alginic acid and its salts, carrageenan and its salts, agar agar, pectins, guar gum, starch ethers, starch esters, locust bean flour, gelatins, succinoglycan, polyvinylpyrrolidone, crosslinked copolymers of acrylamide and acrylic acid, tara gum and mixtures thereof [b] at least a low-swelling water-absorbing component, preferably selected from celluloses, maltodextrin, starch and derivatives, silica, modified silica, talc, clays, hectorites, perlites, metal oxides and hydroxides, metal carbonates, metal hydroxide carbonates and mixtures thereof [c] at least one odour-absorbing component and [d] at least one deodorant active component. Also disclosed is the anhydrous cosmetic composition comprising a propellant and use of the anhydrous cosmetic composition for reduction of body odour released by perspiration.
