PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibrator for an ultrasonic probe, where the dimension in the thickness direction of the ultrasonic probe is reduced by shortening the length of an earth electrode compared with a conventional one.

SOLUTION: A signal electrode 28 and the earth electrodes 29 are formed on the same surface of a piezoelectric body 26 constituting the piezoelectric vibrator 15. The earth electrodes 29 has projections 33 on the front surfaces. The piezoelectric body 26 includes: filling parts 31 formed by filling gaps 30 with a filler and a piezoelectric material part 32 composed of a piezoelectric material. The filling parts 31 are formed of the filler with a material to be projected onto the front surface of the piezoelectric body 26 from the piezoelectric material part 32 without being ground when grinding the front surface of the piezoelectric body 26, and has projections 31a to be projected from the front surface of the piezoelectric body 26. A conductive layer 27 at the parts of the earth electrodes 29 are projected on the projections 31a, so as to form the projections 33.
