The invention relates to a brachytherapy apparatus (1) for applying a brachytherapy to a living object. The brachytherapy apparatus comprises a planning unit (14) for determining a placing plan defining placing positions and placing times for one or several radiation sources within the living object and close to a target region. The placing plan is determined such that the placing times are within a treatment time window determined by a treatment time window determination unit (13), wherein within the treatment time window a change of a spatial parameter of the living object caused by swelling is minimized. An adverse influence on the brachytherapy due to swelling can thereby be minimized, which improves the quality of the brachytherapy.Linvention concerne un appareil (1) de curiethérapie destiné à appliquer une curiethérapie à un sujet vivant. Lappareil de curiethérapie comporte une unité (14) de planification servant à déterminer un plan de mise en place définissant des positions de mise en place et des durées de mise en place dune ou plusieurs sources de radiations à lintérieur du sujet vivant et à proximité dune région cible. Le plan de mise en place est déterminé de telle façon que les durées de mise en place se situent dans les limites dun créneau temporel de traitement déterminé par une unité (13) de détermination de créneaux temporels de traitement et caractérisé en ce que, au cours du créneau temporel de traitement, une variation dun paramètre spatial du sujet vivant causé par un gonflement est minimisée. Il est ainsi possible de minimiser une influence défavorable sur la curiethérapie due au gonflement, ce qui améliore la qualité de la curiethérapie.
