The invention relates to a method for obtaining a triploid interspecific hybrid of meagre and red drum belonging to the family of the Sciaenidae. The method includes the following two steps: a) crossing a meagre Argyrosomus regius with a red drum Sciaenops ocellatus, and b) carrying out treatment to induce triploidy in the issue obtained.
