The present invention discloses a method of measuring the retention force (F R ) of a biomedical specimen (1) in the form of an electrically conductive structure located on a carrier (2), comprising the following method steps: - creating an external alternating magnetic field (dB/dt; dB/dx) near the specimen (1); - increasing the amplitude and/or frequency of the magnetic field; - detecting the start of movement of the specimen (1) on the carrier (2); and - calculating the retention force (FR) by determining the applied magnetic force (F M ) on the basis of the parameters of the respective magnetic field.
