PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further accurately discriminate expiration and inspiration of a subject.SOLUTION: A biological monitoring device 1 includes: a monitoring part 12 for monitoring a temporal change in depths of feature points of one or a plurality of parts in a living body on the basis of a reception signal received from an ultrasonic sensor 2; and a respiration identification part 13 for identifying expiration and inspiration on the basis of information of the depths of the feature points.
