The planter unit includes a parallelogram frame having two pairs of opposed 5 frame members for mounting to a toolbar. It also includes a resilient member attached to the parallelogram frame for holding the frame members of the parallelogram frame in a parallelogram shape while permitting the shape of the parallelogram to alter in response to an external force. Yet further the planter unit includes a gauge wheel operatively associated with the 10 parallelogram frame for engaging the soil surface and travelling over the soil surface in use, and a seeding arrangement pivotably mounted to the parallelogram frame at a pivot location which includes a seed dispenser that in an operative position is spaced below the pivot location.
