PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus having high ability to discriminate a substance.SOLUTION: An X-ray CT apparatus according to an embodiment includes a photon counting detector, a first generation part, a second generation part, and a reconstitution processing part. The photon counting detector includes a plurality of detecting elements which output signals corresponding to the number of photons that are counted. The first generation part generates first projection data on the basis of the signals from the plurality of detecting elements. The second generation part generates second projection data by bundling together, in spatial units, the first projection data from a predetermined number of detecting elements among the plurality of detecting elements.
