FIELD: forensic technology.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forensic science, namely to special devices for fingerprint research. Device includes a housing with a screwed cover with a hole, a reservoir for crystalline iodine, an electric blower located in the housing and connected to a rheostat for controlling the air supply head, a working chamber in the form of a glass funnel for isolating iodine vapors when examining hand traces and a direct current source connected to a fan through a rheostat for controlling the air supply head. It has installed in front of electric fan located in housing, long electromagnetic lens, consisting of excitation coil in sealed housing and enveloped from outer side of magnetic conductor, rheostat regulating current intensity, connected to excitation coil.
