PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair dye for a hairstyling iron which has sufficient dying properties and washability, and which can sufficiently suppress staining of the scalp or skin, and a method of dying hair using the same.SOLUTION: The hair dye for a hairstyling iron is characterized by comprising 50 to 98 mass% of an oil component and 0.01 to 10 mass% of an acidic dye with the water content being less than 3 mass%.
