The present invention relates to a fish pump comprising an inlet and an outlet for fish and water. A fish and water passage 3 is running from the inlet to the outlet, the passage 3 is defined by a wall and is tapering towards the outlet. A casing 7 is enclosing at least a section 4a of the passage, and a number of blades 10 are arranged rotating axially between the casing 7 and passage 3. At least a section 4a of the wall defining the passage 3 and being enclosed by the casing 7, is provided with openings 6, allowing water to flow from the passage and into the casing. A jacket 8 is at least enclosing a section 4b of the passage 3 at the outlet, downstream of the casing 7, the jacket 8 is tapered towards the outlet. The wall defining the fish and water passage 3 in the section 4b being enclosed by the jacket 8, is solid, leaving an aperture 11 between the jacket and the passage close to the outlet of the pump.
