An animal feeding apparatus (2, fig 1) comprising a hopper (4, fig 1) for containing particulate fodder, said hopper having a lower opening 28. A feed device comprising a rotatable disc 30 is disposed below said lower opening to receive fodder discharged therefrom. A feed trough 24 is arranged to receive feed from said feed device. Vibration generating means (38, fig 8) for imparting vibration to said hopper are provided. A controller (40, fig 1) is provided for controlling operation of said vibration generating means and said feed device to deliver fodder from the hopper into the feed trough. The controller includes a timer whereby said controller can be programmed. The feed device broadcasts fodder delivered onto the upper surface of the disc from the hopper into the feed trough. The apparatus may be battery or mains powered and may be provided with photovoltaic cells, a lid 16, access ladder 22, skids 10 and means to allow transportation by a tele-handler 12, 14.
