Implants for augmentation, preferably by minimally invasive procedures andmeans, of body tissue, including insome embodiments repositioning of body tissue, for example, bone and, preferably vertebrae are described. The implant (200) maycomprise one or more chain linked bodies (210) inserted into the interior ofbody tissue. As linked bodies are inserted into bodytissue, they may fill a central portion thereof and for example in bone canpush against the inner sides of the cortical exterior surfacelayer, for example the end plates of a vertebral body (12), thereby providingstructural support and tending to restore the body tissueto its original or desired treatment height. A bone cement or other filler canbe added to further augment and stabilize the bodytissue. The preferred implant comprises a single flexible monolithic chainformed of allograft cortical bone having a plurality ofsubstantially non-flexible bodies connected by substantially flexible links(220).
