The anchor (1) consists of a stiff wire twisted into a loop (3, 4) having a two start helical thread from whose outer diameter is from 1 1/2 to 2 times the diameter of the wire. The gap (2) allows the anchor to be hand screwed into soft materials, while harder materials may require the use of a hammer. In the case of materials such as concrete a plastics plug may be used with an internal helix to sail the anchor, or a hollow tube of the same form may be pre-cast into the concrete. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used to hold strings, wires and netting for horticultural purposes. The anchor may be fitted and removed with the minimum of tools.
