The imaging device 1 comprises a first infrared light source 6, a second visible green light source 7 and an image capture device 3 arranged to capture images of a scene, typically a subject's eye, using the infrared illumination and the green visible light illumination. A control circuit may cause the sequentially capture of images with different illumination within 500 milliseconds (ms) of each other and may capture a third image without either of the light sources. The imaging device can be used to screen for cataracts, retinoblastomas and other media defects of the eye.
